New South Wales Floods - March 2009

The Australian Government provided additional financial assistance to people who were still affected by the 2009 March and April floods in the Mid-North Coast and Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. A one-off, ex-gratia payment of $1,000 per household was available to people whose home, on or after 29 September 2009, still required repairs estimated to cost $1,000 or more. This payment has now closed.

Additional Assistance

Under the Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA) assistance was also provided to those affected by the flooding through the New South Wales Government Department of Community Services who can be contacted on 1800 018 444.
